Eizabeth Reed purchased one ton of Riesling grapes from the Porongurup sub-region in the Great Southern in 2010 and made two barrels of Shiraz from Mount Barker also from the Great Southern in the same year. It was here that Flor Marché was born. The idea was to source small parcels of fruit from single vineyards across the southwest of Western Australia selected because that variety produced the best quality wine possible. Flor Marché wines have been crafted to distinctly express the influences of soil, environment and climate on the grape varieties that do best in specific regions of the southwest of Western Australia. Winemaking focuses on enhancing varietal expression through natural processes retaining the vitality, aliveness and flavour of the wine.
